Introduction
“Atlas of Clouds over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau”is a regional cloud atlas,revealing systematically and comprehensively the state of clouds over“the roof of the world”-the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau,and describing the weather and climate features of the Plateau.
The said atlas is divided into two parts:the first pan elaborates the survey of the clouds over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and makes a brief introduction to the formation,shapes,structures and features of the clouds;the second part is composed of 277 photos plus captions in 152 groups,embracing the common typical and special morphology of clouds,orographic clouds,systematic cloud system,and the evolution of clouds over the Plateau.
This atlas supplies valuable information and data for studying the weather and clouds over the QinghaiXizang Plateau.It can also serve as a reference book for those engaged in meteorological observation,weather forecast,meteorology teaching and doing research in meteorological field and also those who are concerned in this field.
